Cornell Tech Trip/Presentation Reflection Journal


            So today after school we actually had a pretty cool field trip planned to Cornell Tech a private college which is super interesting and great thing to experience seeing as we are all soon going to college after graduating high school. The trip to Cornell Tech was fun but I was a bit nervous because I dreaded the soon coming presentation of our experience with Shark Tank. Before the presentation I actually managed to enjoy myself by spending times with the class walking around the campus as it is located on Roosevelt Island which is another cool thing. After looking around the campus and the pooping geese we then proceeded to the main building in which we were allowed to prepare a little for the presentation before we entered the room in which we would soon present upon. Once it was time to start presenting I was kind of freaking out but I remained calm because if I freaked out then my team members would freak out so yea. After seeing the first group present their experience with Shark Tank I was actually kind of relieved as it looked alright and a bit fun. So finally when it my groups time to present I kind of wanted to get it over with by then but I was actually a bit excited. Throughout my presentation I talked a bit fast tried to explain well my groups experience with Shark Tank like the positives and negatives of the experiment. After finishing I was relieved we all got through it because soon after we all were given pizza and taken back to school to go back home. Overall, the trip was really fun and i'm glad to have been there to experience with my friends.

What Does a CTE Diploma Means to Me?

            What diplomas can students receive in High School? There are different diplomas that students in High School can get but for each one they have different standards in order to achieve them. One of the diplomas that a student can receive is a Regents diploma this is the basic diploma students need to graduate High School with and can receive. The Advanced Regents diploma is a diploma that students can aim for while in High School this diploma is for students who have a taken more regents and whose grades exceed those of regular students. To get the Regents diploma, a student needs 8 English credits, 8 S.S credits, 6 Math  credits, 6 Science credits, 2 credits in LOTE, 4 credits in PE, 1 credit in Health, 2 credits in Art and 7 elective credits. CS Fair Reflection Journal

Taken from the CS Fair website             Today we the Web Design academy had the opportunity to go to the CS Fair held within the Armory Track. At first before the entire trip even started I was wondering what we might see at this event and I really wasn't prepared for what was actually there. Once we got to the location I was astonished to see how many people actually went and even how many companies, colleges, etc were there at the fair. The place was massive and there was so many things to do, people to talk to and I was dumbfounded in where to start. The first thing I did during the fair was try the different activities they had to offer including playing with lights, driving a robot which was created to complete in a competition and was built in around 30 days which was extremely impressive.
