| Taken from the CS Fair website |
Today we the Web Design academy had the opportunity to go to the CS Fair held within the Armory Track. At first before the entire trip even started I was wondering what we might see at this event and I really wasn't prepared for what was actually there. Once we got to the location I was astonished to see how many people actually went and even how many companies, colleges, etc were there at the fair. The place was massive and there was so many things to do, people to talk to and I was dumbfounded in where to start. The first thing I did during the fair was try the different activities they had to offer including playing with lights, driving a robot which was created to complete in a competition and was built in around 30 days which was extremely impressive. After trying the activities I then moved on to the actual fair itself and had the opportunities to talk to companies such as Facebook, Accenture, and even colleges such as Colombia, Queens, and Hunter.
After going through about half the fair I decided to take a break and sit for a bit and even get lunch which was good as I got to hang out with my classmates and talk about what the fair had to offer with them such as the different internships and programs as well as all the free stuff given of course. Later during the end of the fair the winners of the raffle was announced sadly I didn't win but the overall experience of the fair is something I will always remember in my life and cherish because it shows me there is so much out there for kids like me into computer science and there's not one path but multiple that are just waiting to be taken.
