WBL Seminar 2

2019 Emoticon was quite an experience in itself. Emoticon was held within the New York Public Library and I went with my entire Web Design Class including my CTE teacher as we were all accepted into the expo as we submitted different games we each submitted whether it be in groups or individually. During the first couple hours of the expo a bunch of different projects were displayed by a lot of different groups and it was really cool to see a lot of cool work done by others and we were also given the opportunity to display our own work and present it to the people who went to the expo and show them what we created and the process behind it as well. After the presentation we then participated in activities such a creative thinking activity which involved building bridges with some miscellaneous object like LED lights, tap, etc.. then soon after that we had the opportunity to listen to a few people talking about their own careers and one of the interesting things I heard was this one person talking about how she is a game developer and she even showed us a game she worked on and I thought it was pretty cool to learn about what she does and what brought her up to it. But not only did she talk about that she also talked about some things that a career into computer science would give you such as becoming a white hacker, etc.. The overall experience I got from Emoticon was a great one as I got to network with more people who like me are also pursuing careers in computer science.
